My Reflection on “Terrorism/Radicalism” on Christian Ethics.

The question on this topic is “ what is our respond as the Church of Christ if we face persecution by the radical Muslim? will we use our right to defence or avenge?” Indonesia is the largest Muslim population in the world. Christians are minority in the country, but the number of Christians increase reach to 15 % of the population. To keep the peaceful condition, the churches choose to keep silent and not to raise up their protest voice for a long time. But thanks to God that in the midst of her silence, the churches grow up as planted in good soil, in the midst of opposition. In the times of Soeharto regime there were 456 churches being close down, at the era of Megawati Soekarno Putri there were 92 churches and the largest number on the history is at the era of our president now, at 2010 the accumulation of the churches being closed or destroyed reached 2.442 churches 1 , which has connection with the radical Muslim influence. And last year a church which has been closed down

Song of Songs.

"The Bible will be the poorer without the inclusion of the Song of Songs, which celebrates the love of husband and wife?" I am agree with the statement above that the Bible will be the poorer without the inclusion of the Song of Songs. My reasons is first, the song of songs is a poem that celebrates the love of man and woman, which is a beautiful gift from God. Second, the song of songs reflects about the deepest love of God toward man which demonstrate through Christ who loves us and died for us. Without the book of song of song it is difficult for us to see the picture of the depth of love between man and woman, which reflects the depth of God's love toward His people. Third reason, this book is also useful for generation to generation to see what is true love in the midst of distorted meaning of love and sexuality in human life. Especially in our time now, where love, gender identity, sex are distorted and misunderstood (homosexuality, transgender, free sex, pornog

Letters to Philemon

Exegetical Paper of Paul's Letter to Philemon Name : Naomi Fortuna My Pre-Understanding of the text First, my preunderstanding of the text, I heard some sermon which talk about a slave whose name is Onesimus run away from his master and become Christian because of Paul's ministry in the prison. The letter of Philemon pictures out about the relationship between a Christian master and a Christian slave (especially in the context of a run away slave and forgiveness from a master to a slave). In this exegese paper, I try to reconstruct the problem behind the letter by reading this text by study the words, find the support from other Paul's writings especially his teaching related to the relation between master and slave (Collosians, Galatian). I also try to search the data about slavery in NT (and just a small portion of OT), and compare this data with the context of slavery in first century Roman's society world.
